A vast majority of travel insurance and private rescue policies sold do not cover search and rescue services. Typically a confirmed location of the traveller must be known before a ground or air rescue operation is mounted. In addition, a majority of policies sold only cover travellers up to 4,000m (13,123ft) or 6,000m (19,685ft).

Traveller Assist acts independent of your insurance or rescue policy to provide both ground and air, search and rescue services, using specialised teams of sherpas, guides and mountaineers, coupled with trusted helicopter providers who employ qualified and experienced mountain rescue pilots, including long-line rescues.

Traveller Assist can act on behalf of insurers and/or private families to coordinate trusted search and rescue services and to ensure that costs are managed and contained. In addition, our staff can act as a liaison between families, law enforcement, embassies and the media.

Upon the successful rescue of the traveller, Traveller Assist can then direct hospital care to trusted healthcare providers, and provide ongoing medical assistance to ensure quality of care and contain costs.

In the unfortunate event that a traveller is deceased, Traveller Assist can also coordinate a repatriation of mortal remains to anywhere in the world.
