Earthquake - Repatriation of mortal remains from Mexico to Australia

In the wake of a 7.1 Magnitude Earthquake that struck close to Mexico City, Traveller Assist was activated to repatriate the mortal remains of a traveller home to Australia.

The airport in Mexico City was closed until safety inspections could be carried out, and communications in the region were down due to damage caused by the quake.

Traveller Assist was able to dispatch a local Doctor and Nurse from our network to complete the relevant forms with the government, at the morgue, and at the airport, and to meet the family members who had been travelling with the deceased.

Within 36-hours of our team arriving, they were able to expedite the process and successfully repatriate the mortal remains of the deceased home to Sydney, Australia to be laid to rest.
